History Of Cameron Park
Originally the area was inhabited by the Niesnan branch of the Maidu Indians and not much went on in the area till Larry Cameron bought 5,000 acres in 1950 for ranching purposes. Since then it broken up into various lots and has slowly grown into a eastern suburb of Sacramento. The area is a mix of businesses, apartments, single family homes and a few ranches.
